sought in a petition recently presented
to President Alfredo Zayas by leaders
of an orderly crowd which the Presi-
dent addressed from a balcony of the
National Palace. He promised the de-
monstrants that he. would give, their
claims careful consideration. but that
they should not forget that landlords
had rights which could not be legally
