revealed to the women spectators.
The fine time turned in by the
great things for them after reaching
their full development. Bonny Bel-
iwyn. the athletic son of Archibald
Selwyn. swam a race which earned
loud applause from the gathering.
Perhaps the most breathless finish
was furnished by the winner of the
men's 50-yard swim. Mr: Bassett. of
the Bellman cottage. who was only
declared the winner after the Judges
had called the race a dead heat be-
tween Arthur Clarke. the former Eras-
mus High school star. and himself.
These two men were so evenly match-
ed. and their efforts so strenuous. that
both agreed to toss a coin and decide
the winner.
The motorboat race. for all classes.
was hotly contested. and the finish the
most thrilling ever witnessed at the
Boll Island Club. all the boats being
bunched as they crossed the finish
line. and only the expert timing on
the part of William Wright and the
keen eyesight of the judges made the
real winner a certainty.
