his farm on Newtown avenue. Mrs.
Burke's husband's term of serVice in
the police department was so long that
he would have been entitled to a'pen-
sion if he. remained a few years long-
er. but when Mr. McLean offered. ac-
cording to allegations. to deed them
the farm. they agreed. It is further
alleged that they broke up their home.
in the city and stocked up the farm
with valuable cattle. and implements.
Everything went line until Mr. Mc-
Lean died. it is alleged. without hav-
ing formally deeded over the property.
His wife was appointed administra-
trix and sometime ago sent notice to
the plaintiff that she intended to SP”
the property and offered to allow the
plaintiff to put in a bid for-i1. The
latter. however. brought action to
compel Mrs. McLean to sizn the for-
mal deed to the farm and tied up the
estate of the dt't‘vusml. The matter
will be thrashed out in the courts.
