BAZAAR.
in spite of the .-woather last night
there was a very good attendance at
the second evening of the three-day
bazaar held by the members of the
East Norwalk Improvement Associa-
tion and a number of the articles
Were disposed of. The weather. how-
ever, forced the cancellation of the
entertainment last evening. as those
who were to appear had to travel long
distances. and it was impossible for
them to come. Tonight, the last
. nightgf the fair. it is expected thatgbe present and the
all articles will be disposed of.

John Cabanna’s powerboat Crescent
was torn loose from its moorings and
was washed ashore oi! Fitch’s point
but is not thought to be damaged.
,Alex Manuvinios' power boat Helene
twas also washed ashore there. A
{number of trees alongshore wen
blown down by the force of the wind,
which it is estimated rose at times to
over seventy miles an hour. Branches
inf trees hitting telephone wires. caus-
,lng short circuits and in some in.
jstances breaking the wires also put
gout a number of telephones. The
ghigh water did some damage washing
ythings away as well. The awnings
.on the stores of R. Vogei and D. Can-
ievari were ripped to shreds by the
iforce of the .wind as well. Streets
were flooded and in many instances
‘long detours had to be taken by ped-
estrians in order to get by the pools
of water. This was especially true
under the Fort street and East ave-
nue bridges, the catch basins being
clogged by .dirt and leaves which
,formed an almost water-tight mat-
‘ting alter the surface of the basin.

On Friday evening. October 8th. the
members of the cast of “The ‘Minis-
iter's Blrrllday," which was given at
.the East avenue M. E. church some
grime time ago. will go to Darien and
lpresent the sketch there at the hall
in the Center School for the benefit
