The court in passing sentence men-
tioned the bomb outrage in Wall
street Wednesday noon and stated
that something must be done to dis—
courage such affairs. "The expose of
this plot." said Judge Keeler, "uncov-
ers one of the worst situations that
has ever come to my attention in thB
state."
Relatives and friends of the sen-
tenced men created a slight scene in
the courtroom by their outcries as the
full import of the court's sentence
was realized by them but were quick-
ly silenced. ,
The sentenced men were taken to
the county jail shortly after recess
and will be taken to the state prison
at VVethersfield in a few days.
The crime for which the men were
sentenced was one which mvstiiied
the police for only a short time.
Threatening letters had been mailed
to Mr. Vt’heeler before the bomb ex-
plosion of Auxilst 28' which by the
way did little damage to the plant
beyond blowing om window glass.
