church is meeting this alternoon tor
the usual Thursdy afternoon sewing
and bushes: session.
Routine business was disposed of
at the meeting of the Ladies' Aid
Society of the East Avenue M. E.
church held yesterday aftemoou at
the clmrch.
Plans are steadily going forward
for tin three-day bazaar to be held
the last week of this month at Com~
munity Hall by the East Norwalk im-
provement Association, and further
announcements of the plans' will he
made later.
The committee appointed at the an-
nual district meeting, to consult with
the proper officials may result in gen-
eral repairs being made to the quart-
ers of the Mayflower Hook & Ladder
company, which repairs are sorely
needed. For some little time now
the roof has been needing reshingling.
and for some reason or other the mat-
ter has not been attended to,
Starting today work on the. East
Norwailk Millpond damis going for-
ward so that the height of the Elam
will be increased betWeen a foot and a
foot and a half, and the damage done
recently by an exceptionally high
tide is being repaired. Contractor
Manzi anticipates finishing the work
by the beginning of next week. Con-
trbutions towards the defrayment of
expenses on ehe construction of the
