The business meeting of the Sev-
enteenth, which was attended by the
veterans from the entire county, was
one which recalled the days of these
veterans when they together marched
under arms in the defense of Their
country and making it one and insep-
arable now and forever.
One of the important matters per-
taining to the business meeting was
the erection of a steel flagpole at Bar-
low's knoll at Gettysburg, from which
a flag is kept afloat the entire year
around. The wooden iiangIB that
was there was demolished during a
recent storm. Barlow's knoll. as it
is called, was named after General
Barlow. under whom the regiment
'served. and who was killed in action
during the war. The business meet~
ing came to a close at about 12:30,
and the veterans disbanded ior the re-
mainder of the day.
The business meeting of the Twenty-
eighth regimcnt was called at 10:30.
and was held in the pavilion. The of-
