The wedding, on Saturday, at 4 p.
m., in the Noroton Presbyterian
church, of Miss Bessie Weed, of Nor-
oton Heights, to Andrew John Shaw,
of Noroton, was a notable event. The
church was thronged to the doors
long befoxe the time set for the core-
mony, for the bride Miss Bessie
“’eed. and her husband to be had in-
vited the community After the core-
mony, the bride provided a spread of
ice cream and cake for the boys and
glxls and in the evening in the club

Society she gave a, reception and
dance, Crabbe's oréhestra. discourslng
music, and another feast, of good
things being provided.
The event was an “apple blossom
wedding.” The church was decorated
with branches of the blooms, huge
banks of them being massed about the
pulpit alcove, until the entire church
was laden with Ihoir fragrance. A few
some had been reserved for relatives
and the guests invited to the rump-
tion which followed at the bride's
home. but all other sittings were avail-
