the hospital authorities.
Mr. Bates was taken to the Stam-
ford hospital suffering with appendi-
citis for which he was operated for
and began to make steady improve-
ment. until the change which came
' suddenly, took place. It is feared at
the hospital that pneumonia. may set
in, making the possibility for his re-
covery very slight. Mr. Bates is a
very well known Dnrien man. making
his home here for the past twenty
years.
