Mr. Bush was badly bruised. but
was able to assist in carrying her to
the Coley residence. where every aid
was given until the arrival of a phy-
sician and a nurse. It was necessary
to take several stitches in the right
leg above the knee, and the. child was
then removed to the Coleman house.‘

men and negroes accused of parizct-
paling in the race riots which caused
the death of twenty negroes and tltir-
teen whites and the injury or, nun-

The coroner has fixed the number of'
dead at 33 and the city health commis-
aioner has found that 306,.peopre in-
jured in the riots were treated in hos-
pitals. He expressed the opinion, how-
ever. that perhaps 400 or more ‘vrno
