eruption, Wiping out twenty'villages

in the vicinity of Blitar and causing
deaths estimated at 15.000. according

The volcano Kalut (Keloet) is one
of the fourteen active volcanoes on
the Island of Java. Kalut is in East-
ern Java, south of Surabaya.
