HELD IN BLOOMFIELD
seph Chamberlain, 48, was arrested
here today after a search which last
ed three months and covered New
Hampshire, Vermont, New York and
Connecticut. He offered no resistance
when three police officers surrounded
him.
Chamberlain is charged with the
imurder of Dennis J. Clifford, an aged
recluse, at Hooksett, N. H" on Octo-
ber 12. The killing of Clifford was
. said to hare been one of the most
brutal murders in the history of New
