was passing through Noroton and en-
deavored to make good her escape.
She was being taken from Stamford
to Bridgeport Jail, by Detective Ser-
geant Foley, of the Stamford police de-
partment. and shortlv after boarding
the train she obtained the permission
of her custodian to go into the ladies
room at the end of the car. The officer
yelled outside and first received the
conformation from the conductor that
the woman could not retail-oust. the
window.
When the train reached the South
Norwalk depot the emcer investinted
the woman’s continued absence and
found the window open and the woman
gone. He immediately instigated a
search for her and she was captured
in Norolon and was found to have
been badly injured when she jumped
from th'e moving train. She was taken
to the Stamford lioepltai where line
is still confined.
