Samuel Dworkin, a well-known Main
street business man, who was arrested
September 4th. by Constable Silk. on
thr- charge of stealing a note made by
hint from Charles W. Horton, in whose
favor it \was drawn. and the case came
up for trial in the uptown court. this
morning, before Judge. Candee. Prose-
cutor Dunbar appearing 'for the state.
Attorney Joseph Taylor for Mr. Hor-
ton, and Attorney Leo Davis for the
accused.
Dworkin was found guilty as charg-
cd and sentenced to thirty days In the
Bridgeport jail and, through his law-
yer, appealed the‘case, and was re

Mr. Horton's Story.
Mr. Horton told a straightforward
story of how he had loaned Dworkin
