rBureau of Aircraft Production that

and most desirable wood in the con
,struuion of airplane propeller blades
and gun stocks. both being essential
parts of war machinery. Ethan AI-

sued the following statement:
“Walnut trees are scattered through
dinerent parts of the United States.
growing in small, groups, and in tak-
ing the necessary steps to see that '
these trees are made available to the
Government, the owners of the trees
have an opportunity to demonstrate
tlitir patriotism in a most practical
and effective. way.
‘A part only of the lumber pro
duced from each tree can be used,
and the Government. therefore. can-
not buy the trees direct from the
owner. When the trees are sold to a
saw-mill. which has a Government
contract for lumber for propeller
blades or sun stocks, this wood will
be sorted out and put to the uses to
which it is adapted.
