The audience assembled early and
was quickly seated by an attentive
corps of ushers. Promptly at eight
o‘clock the omcial party took their
places and a moment later the band
struck up a military alr and marched
into the hall headed by an escort of

Spangled Banner." At the conclusion
of the patriotic air the soldiers and
nurses took seats inI-front of the plat
form.
David Bispham. who is a strong fav-
orite in Norwalk, announced as his
final selection the old fashioned ballad
"Believe Me“ if All Those Endocring
Young Charms" which he rendered
with the full effect of its charming sim-
plicity. He followed with a light lilt-
ing song, “The_Pretty Creature." in
response to continued applause Mr.
Bispham gave two more songs,v"Down
Among the Dead Men" and an Irish re.
