complaints issued against 28 varnish
and paint companies today ordered
the firms "to cease the practice of glv
lug gratuities to employee of cultom-
ers, prospective customers and com-
petitors' customers as an inducement
to them to influence their employes in
the purchase of varnish an! kindred
products." The gratuities included
money. entertainment liquor. cigars,
meals and personal property. in their
answers to the complaints the compan-
