and Tremont streets, will house the
headquarters of the first naval dis-
trict beginning Saturday nest. Rear
Admiral Spencer 5. Wood; command-
ant of the district. will install in the
new headquarters several hundred
yeomen, clerks, woman employes and
messengers who hitherto have been
stationed at the navy yard.
This is the ilnal step in the separa-
tion of the activities of the yard and
the district. All matters of military

supervision of Rear Admiral
Captain William R. Rush, commandant
of the navy yard. will have charge of
