A still alarm was sent in to the (‘en-
tral Fire station at about 9: 30 o'clock
this morning by L. Golden to extin-
gulsh what was thought to be a fire in
the chimney of the block in Washing
ton street but when the firemen ar-
rived at the scene they learned that a
tire was being started in the furnace
of the Liggett-Rilterflegeman drug
store and a back draft had caused
smoke to get into Mr. Golden’s estab-
lishment.
