C. Welch, for several months paaz a
resident of {New Caliban, but for eleven
years before that time a resident oil
Stamford on Suburban avenue, died
Sunday night. Since coming to Stam-
ford, he had been in the employ of the
New Haven - Railroad, his positiont
being that of road-foreman of electric
engines. He will be greatly missed by
all who knew him, as his genial no
turc had won many friends, and hat
was popular among all of the men witui
whom he came in contact;

Mr. Welsh was born in Des Moinesl
Iowa. lie was given the degree of'
Butltelor of Science in June, 1900, by
.the Iona State College at Antes. lie is
survi1ed by his widow, two sister and
two brothers.
