Avenue M. E. church marked the close
of the pastorate of Rev. 8. P Fair-
banks in this place. At both servicé‘s
unusually large audiences listen
with eager and sympathetic attention
to these, the lost utterances of diet!
Fairbanks as pastor of the church he
has serVed, for: live years and now
leaves with the prayers of his people
following him.
As was to be expected; though this
was Easter Sunday with its attendant,
joyous music and wealth of flowers,
there was on undercurrent of sndnerl
connected with the services, for Mr.
Fairbanks seems to have gained an en-
vied place in the hearts 0: his people
and the general regret at his departure
reflected itself in the attitude or his
audience at yesterday's services. This
was especially noticeable in lhe..cven-
