must be something, as it did not have

as you could not consume such an
excessive amount: without carboniz-
ing the cylinders. Evidently there is
n looseness in some part of the me
chanism which is muffled by the oil

use of so-called gasoline .patches?
Are they reliable? Can they be ap-
plied by any one without special in-
siruction? Please give detailed di-
rections for applying them. It. A. C.

the patch, only needing gasoline to
stitch it up ready for use. Pr'epare
the tube around the puncture by

sandpaper and cleaning it oi! with
gasoline. Remove the cloth on the

This softens the cement, but it would
be 1"le to use some cement in addi-
tion, crpeclully on the. tube. Lay
this in a. smooth coat and allow to
dzy. When it loses its gloss and is
ddil all over it is ready. Lay patch
ovel puncture. pressing doun firmly
all around. it is 111011 ready to be
put in the shoe and pumped up.
