New Canaan Man Died Four Hours
After Being Hit by Train
Eugene Devanna, who was struck by
the New Canaan branch electric train
at “the Richmond Hill crossing in New
Canaan. Monday afternoon. while
driving a Ford enclosed delivery car
for Waller Stewart, the Stamford gro-
cer, died at. his home at 5:30 p. in
His injuries including six or seven
broken ribs on his left ‘side and sever-

ple. and a fracture at the base of
the skull. lie was taken from the
