be registErcd against Wilson in Norwalk.
Congressman Ebenezer J. Hill has conduthd a remarkable
speaking campaign. He has spoktn in nearly every town in thc
Fourth Congressional District 31d he has ably. presented the
issues before the American peopl:. The forcefulness of his ar-
guments has won for him ar'supp )rt which assures him an unpre-
cedented majority. He has refrained from personalities, quite in
contrast to some of the supportess of his oppone'nt. The feeling
is prevalent that there is no comparison between the leading can-
didates for Congress and Mr. Hill‘s rc-election ée looked upon as a
certainty. Norwalk will be honoring herself by a most emphatic
endorsement of her honored townsman.
Representative Charles E. Williamson. who is the Republican
candidate for Senator for the Twenty-Sixth Senatorial District, has
made himself well and favorably knewn to the voters of Norwalk
during the past few weeks. He has appeared at all the Ward
meetings and has clearly defined his position on questions of con-
cern to the town. The splendid work he did for Norwalk in the
House of Representatives has created a feeling of gratitude and a
dcgfre to send him to the Senate as a reward and as a guarantee
that the interests of our people will be still further safeguarded.
His opponent, Err-Sheriff )Nilliarn Vollmer, has elements of popu-
larity and undoubtedly will run ahead of his ticket. but the appar-
ent Republican majority is an unsurmountable barrier to him
! reaching the goal to which he aspires.
In the canvas for Representa‘it'e, Attorney Nehemiah Candce
has been particularly active and has demonstrated that he is a
successful campaigner. He has distusscd live issues and has arous-
ed deserved enthusiasm toward his candidacy. On all occasions
he has graciously urged the support of the electorate for his asso-
cistes, Messrs. Williamson 'and ‘West. There is little doubt of|

tion in that event. 'Dr. Hiram B. West ispopular with everybody,
