Routine business was accomplished.
The only thing that relieved the man-

fence around the Roger Ludlow mon-
ument. today. They started this work
last fall, but for some reason it was
not completed.

A farewell surprise was given to

Le avenue, last evening. Mr. Nick~
arson left this city this morning to
report at Fort Slocum, New Rochelle.
Games were. played. singing was en-
joyed by all and adinty refreshments
were served, after which a handsome
watch fob was presented to water all

parted for home extending Mr. Nick-
lerson their best wishes as he goes to
