rnl, president of the Fairtleld Rubber
Company. announced today the com-
plctlon of negotiations by which the
du Pont Fabrikoid Company, a sub-
sidiary of the E. l. du Pont de Ne-
mours Company had purchased the
local factory.
Mr. llarral will devote his attention
to the remodelling of the Star Shirt
Company's factory in Bridgeport, in-
to an apartment house. He has pur-
chased the factory and adjoining pro~
pcrty for this purpose. The shirt
company, it is understood, will re-
move its business to Baltimore.
A LONG LIVED EAGLE.
It has been a tradition from time
immemorlnl that the eagle renews its
strength when very old. it mounts
aloft until it comes very near the sun.
when, scorched by the heat, it throws
itself into the sea, whence it emerges
full of renewed vigor.
Such have supposed that the pas-
sage in "Psalms ciil, 5, “Thy youth is
renewed 111.8 the eagle's," alludes to
this old fable. But. the more probable
fact is that it refers to the strength
and vigor which characterize the eagle
even in old age.
A couple of years ago a large speck
men of eagle was shot on the fiord by
the city of Nabokov, Denmark. Around
