night a wagon was driven up to Mr E
Turner‘s chicken house, hack of hip:

away. A short time ago itbc sanic‘
thing happened to the chicken coop of
the Schwab family, of Noroton
Heights, and about ten days [3-0 25
or 30 fine chickens were stolen from
the Scribner family, also of the
Heights. This is ‘the third or tourth
time that the Scribners have had their
chicken houses “cleaned out" in the
1ast.few months, and the story is told
that on one occasion the thieves "got
thirsty and milked the Scribners'
cow," not being satisfied with stealing
the liens. The latest rumor is to the
effect that at a number of houses on
Noroton avenue where it is known the
people keep poultry, last week, a mid-
dle aged man went to the front door,
at about 10 at night and stated that,
he wanna stranger in the town and
wanted to know the way to the depot
or the trolley line. He happened to
be in the block )"llt‘rl‘ the depot was
at one end and the trolley line at the
other end. so he had passed eitlieyone
