smothered to death last night while ..
trying to save her money and bank
book from being burned. She was
evidently awakened by fire in the
house and. groping her way to the
parlor where-she kept her money and
other valuables. was overcome by
smoke and fell to the floor. where her
body was found later by the firemen
in her hands were money and papers
About 3100 in bills was in one hand
and in the other was a bankhpoll. The
tire started from on overheated stove:

charred and to later burst into flames
The house was filled with attacks.
It was evident that Mrs. Roe had
groped her way into the parlor from
the kitchen. and had secured her val
nobles and was on the way back when
