are dead and several others are ser-
iously ill as a result, it is believed, of
having eaten poisoned candy. The
police of the Brighton district. co-
operating with ,the Cambridge: authors

The children dead range from one
to three years, were Catherine Liills
and her brother, John Ulisr Francis
A. Kelley and Muriel H. MoDougal, all
living in the Brighton district, and
Robert G. Sullivan of Cambridge.
The cause of deathdn each case was
given in the medical certificates as
acidosis. All the children have died
within the last four days. Two others
in the Sullivan family are in a serious
condition with similar symptoms. The
children were attended by Dr. Henry

Two indictments containing seven
counts were yesterday returned
of Sing Sing. by the Westchester
county grand jury which has been in-
vestigating conditions in the prison.
One indictment charged the warden
with having committed perjury in his
testimony at the recent inquiry con-i
ducted by Dr. Rudolph Diodiing, ol
the slate prison commission. The
other indictment contained six counts.
The first main charged that Os-i

prison. The second embraced allega
tions that the warden failed to per
form the duties imposed upon him;

oners; that he failed to prevent felon-5
