nalli Congregationalists

*—

A very appreciative audience gath-
ered Thursday evening in the parish
house of the First Congregational
church to listen to the first of a series
of Library Talks by Miss Dotha Stone

Pinned, librarian of the Norwalk Pubs
lic Library. The purpose of these
.talks is to furnish some expert infor-

mation concerning some of the beat!

recent books and current magazines.
This Miss l'inneo is equipped to do
in a most helpful as well as delight-
ful way. it is hoped that one result
of these Guide Post Talks will be to
increase the demand of the public for
the more worthy books upon the li-
brary shelves. Incidentally those who
heed the signs may be saved many a
profl'tless excursion in the dreary
wastes of-the worthless.

Miss Pinheo dealt with a half dozen
classes of books, taking a few of
each class for special treatment.
These she described and from some
read tempting paragraphs. ’l‘hi prac-
tical end of~it all was helped tm~
iiicnsely by printed lists furnished the
audience. that each one might be illile
to take home definite memoranda us
well as lensant recollections of an in-
teresting little journey through mod-
ern book-land. The next talk in this
series will be announced in due time.
{The following is a copy of the list
which can be found at the Norwnlk

the men of Norwalk are invited to

The subjects which they speak on!
