The entire building has been remodeled thrbughout, includ-
ing new store fronts on Main St and on lairfield Ave. New Show
windows have been placed the entire length of the building- on
1" airfield Ave Division walls have been bremoved 011 the main
floor and steel columns covered with concrete support the ceiling.
All the old wooden slairways have been removed and have been
replaced with smoke— proof and fireproof stairways. These are
equipped with saicty treads and iuruisbcd with autonuiiic lire-
prool doors. All the old elevators have been rcmov cd and have
been replaced by new fireprooF elevators capable of carrying 30
people cacl1.l‘hcsc elevators are equipped with the latest starting
and stopping dcv1ccs to protect human life. The entire building
has been furnished with the latest and most modern sprinkling
system including something like 1 800 separate sprinkling outlets
which are continually under pressure all of which insures safely

against (in: such as lire-proof columns and tire doors have been
provided to make the building as near fireproof as possible by bu-
mau invention. One of the latest and most costly cash systems has
