George Roger Arrested for'Embazzle.

CANAAN. Aug. 28,—George Roger,
cashier oi the Canaan National Bank,
was arrested today, charged with em-
bezzlement of about $5,500 of the
bank’s funds. He confessed the short
age to VicePresident Henry 1B. lvcs,
of the bank, yesterday, it was stated.
After his arrest he was taken to Hart-
ford to be arraigned before United
States Commissioner Carroll.
Roger is about 60 years old and
married.
The peculation are understood to

Bank Examiner, after an examination
of the affairs of the Canaan National
Bank. reports in apparent shortage in
the accounts of George Roger, cash
