Claims She Suffered Serious Injury
Last Week, when Gilbert F.
Stevens Took Forclble Pos-
session of a Horse.
A suit for $15,000 damages has been
filed in the Superior Court. against
Gilbert F .Stevens of New Canaan,
and John McNally of Stamford. by
Mrs. Minnie Shanen, wife of lsadore
Shanen of 46 Hawthorn street, Stam-
ford.

Mrs. Shanon charges that the de-
fendants. in pursuance of an agree
ment between them, unlawfully enter-
ed her premises in llnwthorr'f‘ Street.
on May 18 last, for the purpose of
unlawfully taking possession of a.
horse belonging to her husband, and
stabled in a born there. She claims
that they struck her on the head with
an iron snap attached to a halter,
that they shoved her against the cor-
ner of a building and, knocked her
down. '
_ Mrs. Shanon alleges that she was
out and bruised and suffered nervous
shock, which caused premature ill-
ness and permanent injuries.
Albert Phillips is her counsel. The
papers were sorvcd by Constable Lin-
coln Taylor.
Messrs. Stevens and McNully were
arrested yesterday by Detective Ser-
geant Foley on It criminal writ charg-
ing them with assaulting Mrs. Shun
en. )They claim that they are inno
cent of the charge.
