The letter from the secretary or
state plainly shows that Judge Light
was right. The total memberships!
the Norwallt Hospital Association at
the date of this meeting was 1,180, yet
seventy members ssumed the preroga-
tive of altering the by-laws!
Disregarding the advice 01 Judge
Light, who was the acting counsel for
the hospital, it seems that certain
members proceeded to transact unlaw-
ful business
Six new directors were notified and
attended meetings, committees were
discharged and other committees ap«
pointed.
Now it appears that these proceed
inga, not only were in conflict with the
by-lawa ot the association, but were
also a direct violation of the laws of
Connecticut.
These irregular proceedings caused
~the withdrawal of a number of atheism
workers in the association. in prefer-
ence to being affiliated with\ manage-
ment, in which they .had lost cond-
deuce, they resigned.
The men who have stepped aside, on
the basis of intetrity, will certainly be
commended by the large class of. fair-
minded people, who love honor and
who propose to abide by the laws or
this commonwealth.
