negotiations were stafte'd'yesterdny
morning between A A. Hodshon &

Mnkers' union, which may lead to the
reopening of the Hodshon factory
within a short time. Neither Mr. Hod- 2
shon, of A. A. Ilodshon & (10., nor
the officers of the Makers’ association
would give "but- anything delihite
about' the pending negotiations, but
it was stated on good authority that
the factory might be reopened if the
present conferences result in an
amicable agreement.
The reopening of -ihe .Hodshon
plant would- be welcomed by every»
one interested in the industries of
the city Until, a disagreement be
tween the firm and the Makers’ union
the Hodshon concern was one of the
busiest in the city. The factory
made “rought hats,’ a‘nd employed as
many as one hundred sizers. . It is
said in batting circles that in the
event of the company starting again
the factory it is likely to be running
to its capacity just as soon as condii
lions in'the hat trade become better.
When asked about the pending
negotiations and the possibility of
the firm iesuming operations, Mr.
Hodshon said: “i have nothing
definite to say about the matter as
yet. Of course, there has. always
been a possibility of A. A. Hodshon
& 00., resuming operations. It'lail
depends on conditions. If things can i
be made satisfactory all around, there
is a good chance that our factory will
be started again, but it depends en-
tirely on circumstances."
Secretary John O'Hara, of the Hat
Makers association, spent some time
at the factory in conference with Mr:
Hodshon. The officers of. the asso
ciation would not say anything for
publication regarding the conference.
