Locked up in the uptown police
station is James A. Ambler, of Wil-
ton avenue, charged wit’h passing
fraudulent checks. He was arrested
yesterday ,afternoon by Constable
Bryan H. Silk on a body writ issued
by Attorney J. T. Dunbar. represent-
ing A. P. Reynolds, the grocer, of
Wilton avenue. Ambler is alleged to
have passed 11 bad checks on Rey-
:nolds, the total amount aggregating
‘8114. if criminal action is brought
and the charges proved, Ambler will
receive a heavy penalty and be class-
19 ed as one of the most clever check
lmanipulaims in this section of the
state.
