Great Britain,IGerniutty and France-—
according to a’stalement today by the
Department of Commerce.
For many years the total of for-
eign merchandise brought into the
United States and sold again to for-
eign buyers has ranged between 835.-
000.000 and $43,000,000 annually 111
value. During the fiscal year of 1914
the total was 835, 000 .000.
Great Britain‘s {e- export- business
during the last calendar year total-T
ted 8465. 000 000 against 812. 500, 000
handled through the United States in
the same period. The British excess
of domestic exports over American
figures, however. was only one point.
The great difference in re—exporta-
tion business is due in part to the col—
onial possessions :0f the European
countries whose business is handled
through the parent country. 'I‘hu's
Germany in 1913 did ro-exportation
business totalling: $189,000,000 and
France in 1912 re-exported 8357.000,-
