dress on his subject of “Religion and
Patriotism." lie recited the advance-
ment made in the world and declared
that the'lrish race had played an im-
portant part in that work. He said
that religion is essential to the labors
attendant upon the gaining of material
things and attributed it as having
shaped the courses of pursuit.
After Miss Millerd had rendered her
second encore, the orchestra struck‘up
“The Star Spangled Banner." and the
audience standing, joined in the sing-
ing of the national anthem. Rev. '1‘le .
Finn was called upon for a few words
and he gave unstinted pfiaise'to the
lutal Hibernian division for the digni-
tled and very successful evening's in-
struction and entertainment. Dancing
followed until early morning with re-
freshments. Exquisite bouquets of
American beauty roses were presented
