the Legislature appropriate money for;
the establishment of a volunteer life!
saving corps in Connecticut as a!
branch of the federal service main-
tained in other states. This state is
one of the very few on the seaboard
which has no organized life saving
corps.
More than 100 persons are drowned
in this state annually. and it is hoped
by having an organized and equipped
life saving corps this number of fatali-
ties may be reduced to a"'n1inimun1. It

$5, 000 a year to support these stations.
