The author has filled the lines with
I humor and arranged for many laugh-
able situations. Messrs. Shubert
Brothers “played a winner" in select-
;iug Louis Mann for the title role. He
"gave an interpretation of his part in an
admirable manner. It was perfect in
every degree. with the possible excep-
tion of- a slight disposition to run his
words together; causing the people
who occupied rear seats to lose sen-
tences, A transformation from the
lighter vein to the pathetic is a rare
asset. if it is done well. Manhvaccom-
plishes this in a most gratifying man-
nor.
Success of a play is measured by its
reception. There is no measure which
could be used for "The Bubble." Satur-
day night. as the walls of the house
' ‘throbbed with the noise of handciap-
ping. It 33 as virtually continuous and
this enthusiasm is the passport admit-
ting the play into the clique of suc-
cesses. There is no hesitancy felt in
making the prediction that “The Bub-
hie" will have the much sought long
run in New York.
