Tobias Bernhard, of Stamford, died
ness of several weeks. His death
means the passing of one who was a
familiar figure in Stamford for about
half a century, and during all this time
he had the respect of all who‘wore
brought in contact with him ,and were
thus in a position to appeciaTe his
many sterling qualities. He was born
May 26, 1841, in Lucknow, Prussia, and
emigrated to this country when a boy.
He first settled in Bridgeport, later
came to South Norwalk. and thence
