A very delightful affair was Ladies'
Day at the Country Club, wllicll was
held yesterday afternoon, the hours be-
ing from two to six o'clock. There
were eight tables of auction and the
play resulted in the following winners:
First prize, Mrs. Edward Betta; sec-‘
and prize, Mrs. Alexander .I. Rummler;
guests' prize, Mrs. Taylor, of New
York. Music was furnished before the
cards and from four to six, the hours
of the reception. A dainty collation
was served after the prizes were
awarded. The assembly room was
’very prl-ttily decorated with aster-an A
number of ladies arrived during the
items of the reception. Mrs. Fred-
erick H. Quintsrd was hostess and
site was assisted by Mrs. David W.
Raymond and Mrs. Lester Hyatt.

egstes today was the selection of a
place for the next convention. the opin-
ion inclining towards Bridgeport be-
cause a member from that city will be
the new president. ’
Tile visit of Governor Baldwin to the
session was quite unexpected. He re-
sponded to the invitation to speak by
making allusions to striking events in
the state's history.
Rev Father M. J. Ryan. of Green-
wich, the newly elected chaplain. was
introduced to the firemen shortly after
the session began and made a short
address.
Chief Plunder, oi Rowsyton, report-
ed that Charles Prince, a fireman. who
received relief through having been in-
jured at a fire, bus bad a cancer de-
velop upon his check from a wound.
He asked the association to continue
this relief and It was so voted.
Secretary Magoo offered a resolu-
tion thanking Greenwich for its hospit-
able entertainment, and this was car-
ried by rising vote. The legislative
committee named are R. V. Mazes,
Watertown, A. E. Winchester. SouthI
Norwalk; '1‘. L Downey. Walliugiord;
Delaney, New Haven. The resolution
committee are D. W. Harford. South
Norwalk; G. W. Pitt, Mlddletovm, and
