For Norwalk and vicinity: Cloudy to-
night; Friday, fair; fresh to strong
northeast winds. The area of high
pressure that'Iwas central over the:
Lake region, yesterday oruing, has
moved slowly eastwad and is now cen[
tral over the St. lAin‘elch. Valley. it
is causing unusually low temperatures
for the season of the year in the east-
ern portion of the Lake region and
New England. Showers have been re-
ported during the last 24 hours from
the northwestern, southern and east-
ern districts. Heavy showers were re-
ported irom North Dakota, Minnesota
and ' Connecticut. The greatest
amount of rainfall was 1.88 inches, at
New Haven.
