ment. was tried yesterday afternOOn
in the City Hall before Judge John J.

least five striking workmen were kill
.ed and eight seriously wounded dur-
ing the fighting in the streets of St
Petersburg between the strikers on
the one side and the police and cos-
sacks on the other. which continued
throughout the night. and ceased only
at down this morning. Three police
officials are/also known to have been
severely injured.
The figures quoted are official. but

casualties among the strikers were
much heavier.
