has been run 3.000 miles. Lately in
shifting from low speed into high the
motor will stall and seem to choke.
This will last for two or three minutes
until the car gains peed. after which
there is a knock that I cannot locate._
0n level road you can hear it plainly.
Going up grade it grows worse. down
grade you cannot hear it. The car-
buretor has been donned. the valves
reground and molded. The mold:
does not have the power it used to.
Also in backing up. it will go faster

that there is something wrong with
the first speed gear. Perhaps the
first speed is slipping considerably.
"This will not enable you to obtain
sufficient momentum before engag-
ing the high speed. As a result the
motor is forced to labor in order to
pick up the load.
As for the knock in the motor. this
may be due to several causes. If
you cannot locate the knock by
sounding it Would be» best to lower
the crank case in order to make as
careful inspection of all the bearings.
