Strange Story Surrounds Action
Brought by Greenfield Hill ‘
Resident
A decision was given by Judge
William ‘
court to y clearing up the title to
some property in Greenfield Hill in
favor of Mrs. Lloyd Grlscom, wife of
former U, S. ambassador torFrance.
The story back of the action is full
of: interest. In 1880, Miss Agnes
Murray of Greenfield Hill purchased
from Gideon D. ’l‘omlinson two pieces
or property composing the old Gideon
Tomlinson historic homestead. Gid-
eon Tomlinson nus gaernor oi‘ Con-E
necticut in 1827 31 ,
Agnes Murray was known as a
means, but lived much
like a hermit, and she had a decided
antipathy toward some of her neigh
bore, particularly to the late Freder—
ick Bronson.
She was fond of dogs
a number of them about her place.
She also had u lot of antique furni-
ture on show on the front porch of
her home, which. by the way, almost
adjoilled the pretentious homestead
and grounds of Frederick Bronson.

Miss Murray died about ten years
ago. and the heirs took possession 01’
all her property. including the Tom-
linson homestead. Some time later
they sold the Tomlinson place to
Mrs. Griscom. the daughter of the
late Frederick Bronson. When Mrs.

properly recorded she ran up againstj
