the annual water events of the Knob
Club took place on Saturday after-
noon, the grounds being literally cov-
ered with the interested throng oi
spectators numbering nearly a thous-
and people and the water filled with
the participants. The day was excel-
\lent for the sports. the water not be-
ing too rough and the wind being
strong enough merely to add zest to
the contests,
The entries this year were more
complete than on any preceding year,
and those who won the events did so

Mr. Hipson has braved all the fierce
winds of the summer and has not pre-
viously had a mishap. Luckily he was

York, and Roger O'Mara, a Pittsburgh
detective who for the better part of
his life has been retained by the
Thaw family to help Harry K. Thaw

a lawyer, the Canadian counsel em-
ployed for Thaw look to the detective
oincially to represent the family in
proceedings that are to come. The
first of those is to be Thnw’s arraign-
wlrt of habeas corpus next (Wednes-

The time of O'Mara's arrival had not

olina, in the Democratic caucus, has
shown that it originated, probably
from sources hostile to Donovan, and
with no foundation in fact. That the
congressmen were on the verge of A

not closer than 40 feet at any stage
