work is under way on three new eta~
tions on the Old Colony division of the
New York. New Haven and Hartford
”Railroad. These will be at Blizzard‘s
Bay. East Bridxewnter and Seaside.
Work on the Buzzard's :Bay and East
Bridxewater stations is almost com
pleted. while the construction of the
new station at Seaside is about to be
commenced.
These three stations will be essen-
tially of the new order of station or-
- chiteclnre, of artistic design and rath-
'. er on tile spanieh type, and as such
_; will be in marked contrast to the struc-
-- , lures of the old days. All of them will

series of interesting psychological ex-
periments was recently conducted for
lthe purpose of determining the rela-
tion hetiveen oral hygiene and the
mental eificlency of school children.
Dr. Wollln took for experimental
purposes a class or school children
whose teeth were badly in need of at-
tention. it was a class organized un-
der the Oral Hygiene Committee of
the National Dental Association, and
at the beginning of the school year.
these school children were given prop
er instruction regarding the sanitation
of the mouth and proper digestion oi
food. in other words. their teeth were
cleaned and the cavities tilled. Just
how much improvement was shown by
the pupils will be made known at the
congress in Buffalo when several of
these self-same pupils will be in lit-
tendsnce as living illustrations of the
unique oral hygiene experiment.

however Dr Wellin comes to the fol
lowing conclusion "Dental hygiene al-
lords an elective. practical means of
ridding the enduring child of one or
the importsutexcitlng causes of pain,
infection, disease. mental stagnation
and irregular school attendance. The
average amount of improvement shown
in the live psychological tests by the
2'1 pupils undergoing treatment was
57 per cent. Most of the children were
pedagogicnily retarded from one to
four years. but only one lulled of the
promotion during the experimental
year. while seven mode more then nor
mal progress. and the regularity of
attendance was much improved.
