The police of Norwalk have planned
eight arrests following the riot at the
closing of the Muller Gloria Mills last
night. The employees in the office
were set upon «by a crowd of some
fifty striking mill workers and cloned
from engaging as harvest hands in the
wheat fields of North Dakota. Start-
ing about midnight, the prisoners, num-
bering more than one hundred. sang

William Crowley, Driving an
Unbroken Colt, Thrown from
Light Vehicle and injured
While trying out: Louis Nyary'a lit-
tle speedy coil: and endeavoring to
“break” him, William Crowley met
with an accident last evening and is
suffering from the injuries received to-
day. The accident, which seems to
have been Mr. Crowley’s OWn fault, the
result of his mistake occurred at the
corner of Cedar street and the Con-
necticut Turnpike.
A Norwalk autoist was coming east
along the pike when 'he saw this colt
drawing a sulky come speeding up Ce-
dar street toward the avenue. He
stopped his machine about twenty
feet west of the Cedar street corner,
and about five feet from the curb,
thinking that at the rate the horse was
being driven he would continue
'straight across the pike and on up
Cedar street, never dreaming that he
would attempt to negotiate a turn.
Crowley saw the auto lights and
evidently did not know that the car
was at a standstill. rile swung sharp-
ly to the leftist, the corner and closed
in on the south side of the curb, find-
iing himself between the auto and the
curb. The colt jumped forward. the
hub of the sulky struck the hub of the
auto. and over went the light vehicle, ' resolution.
