The building will be six stories high,
80x120 feet, of brick, slow burning con~
struction, and gravel roof. An eleva-
tor will also be installed. and the pres-
ent steam plant will also be enlarged,
arrangemqplts being made for operat-
ing some parts of the plant by elec-
tricity. The new building will be
used for the laundry department and
stock foom, and when completed em»
ployment will be provided for 300 ad«
ditlonal persons, making the total
force about 750. The work will be
started at once. The plans are by C.
R. Makepeace, 430 Butler Exchange,
Providence, R. I., and Wm. Ewing is
superintendent of the factory.
